I want everyone to be safe so.......

Halloween rules!

1. When it appears that you have killed the monster, never check to see if it's really dead.

2. If you find that your house is built upon or near a cemetery, was once a church that was used for black masses, had previous inhabitants who went mad or committed suicide or died in some horrible fashion, or had inhabitants who performed satanic practices in your house - move away immediately.

3. Never read a book of demon summoning aloud, even as a joke.

4. Do not search the basement, especially if the power has just gone out.

5. If your children speak to you in Latin or any other language which they should not know, or if they speak to you using a voice which is other than their own, shoot them immediately. It will save you a lot of grief in the long run. NOTE: It will probably take several rounds to kill them, so be prepared.

6. When you have the benefit of numbers, never pair off and go it alone.

7. As a general rule, don't solve puzzles that open portals to Hell.

8. Never stand in, on, above, below, beside, or anywhere near a grave, tomb, crypt, mausoleum, or other house of the dead.

9. If you're searching for something which caused a noise and find out that it's just the cat, leave the room immediately if you value your life.

10. If appliances start operating by themselves, move out.

11. Do not take anything from the dead.

12. If you find a town which looks deserted, it's probably for a reason. Take the hint and stay away.

13. Don't fool with recombinant DNA technology unless you're sure you know what you are doing.

14. If you're running from the monster, expect to trip or fall down at least twice, more if you are of the female persuasion. Also note that, despite the fact that you are running and the monster is merely shambling along, it's still moving fast enough to catch up with you.

15. If your companions suddenly begin to exhibit uncharacteristic behavior such as hissing, fascination for blood, glowing eyes, increasing hairiness, and so on, get away from them as fast as possible.

16. Stay away from certain geographical locations, some of which are listed here: Amityville, Elm Street, Transylvania, Nilbog (you're in trouble if you recognize this one), the Bermuda Triangle, or any small town in Maine.

17. If your car runs out of gas at night, do not go to the nearby deserted-looking house to phone for help.

18. Beware of strangers bearing tools such as chainsaws, staple guns, hedge trimmers, electric carving knives, combines, lawnmowers, butane torches, soldering irons, band saws, or any device made from deceased companions.

Yea Halloween is here.....

Only one day left and allot to do,

Worse than the kids...

I have changed my mind on what to be for Halloween more times then Colby!

First I was going to be Wonderwomen to MJ's Batman, but after seeing the swimsuit I would be wearing I changed my mind.

Then I decided Robin or the Joker, both expensive and hard to find!

Let's see how about Sara Pallin, no that's too popular. Maybe a Mummy......

hmmmm I think I would rather be something funny! How about a big white garbage can I will be white trash! (that's funny I don't care who ya are)

no too cumbersome......

Oh I know exactly what to be.........

You didn't think I was really going to tell you?......

* I guess you will have to see me on Halloween

If I just had a money tree.....

Every day on the TV we are seeing such scary things about the economy. Stock market crashing, mortgage foreclosures, job layoffs, grocery prices have gone up 30%, not to mention gas prices. I have been worrying allot about what could happen in our country.

To drive this point home my grandmother called the other day and as always asked how we are doing, I assured her we were good, but she kept pressing. After a minute she finally said what she really meant, "I mean financially how are you?, Have you lost allot in the stock market?" I paused for a minute and almost started laughing! I replied " we have five kids and one income, we didn't exactly have allot to lose!"

I have always been a glass half full kinda girl so I guess I found the silver lining in this situation! I just hope nobody steals my mattress! LOL

~Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it is about learning to dance in the rain~

Quote Freak....

I love quotes, any quotes! Movie quotes, famous people, authors, even my family. I have notebooks full of quotes I have written down, whether they inspire me, or just crack me up, I love a good quote.

Dr. Seuss is one of my favorite people to quote, but my sister Shannon comes in a close second (polo bear lol) followed by movies, Dumb & Dumber is a huge one with the extended Kimber family. But today I was thinking of Disney movies and some of the great things the characters say, I could think of so many! But I chose one that I quote allot!

So I am asking everyone to post their favorite quote, or any quote from their favorite Disney movie. Have fun I can't wait to read them all (and add them to my notebooks!)

"Let me guess we are about to go over a huge waterfall?........ Sharp rocks at the bottom?......

Bring it on!"

Choices...

I have always been a believer that we all choose our paths in life. Some things do "happen" to us, but we all choose what we do with these situations. We cannot blame others for where we are in our lives because our choices got us there! With that said.....

MJ I am so proud of you for the choices you have made
and continue to make, to have the
life you choose. I love you with all my heart!

We tell our children to Choose The Right, and sometimes it is as easy as that! Other times there is not a clear choice of right and wrong. More like left or right, they will both get you to the end destination just with a different view and different experiences on the way!

My hope is that we can all make choices that bring smiles to our faces and, bliss to our souls!

Family Pic's.....

I couldn't resist posting this great family pic with me,
and all my boy's, at Lake Powell this summer
I just love how it turned out!

The Grand Idea......

Sooooo..... My friend Kallie got this cutest catalog in the mail. Way cute clothes, Way out of our price range.

$148.00 (nope not kidding)

But hey we can sew right? That just looks like a thermal shirt we could get at Wal-mart right? A little ribbing from Jo-Ann, Some scraps of fabric, maybe a couple of buttons? Ya we can do this!!

$98.00 (yes really)

2 hours in Jo-Ann trying to find ribbing that matches

(or doesn't?)

4 hours deciding, cutting, gathering, sewing,

unpicking, re-sewing

Final Product.....

Ok, Ok maybe not quite that bad. Let's just say it didn't

quite work according to plan.

Don't worry Kallie...

I will still be game when you come up with another "grand idea!"

Tucker & Pocket shirts...

Kids I have learned go through different phases of weirdness.
some I find irritating ( having to do everything themselves.)
While some I find endearing!

Well lately Tucker, despite the cute "school clothes"I bought
(he's not in school yet)
he has decided he can only wear pocket shirts.

Why you ask... because he has" allot of stuff!"

Definition of "stuff" to a three year old.... TREASURES!

It's not the same treasures every day, it varies but I have just picked
an average day to share with you.

1. Empty eyeshadow container = Laptop
2. pedometer (broken) = Watch
3. Several hair elastics = Wrist communicator
4. Film canister = $$$ holder
5. Battery = to charge stuff
6. Random black thing = ???
It is a little frustrating having to take his "stuff" everywhere.
But it is so cute I can't be bugged.
I don't think I always stopped to enjoy these
moments with my other kids,
but knowing Tucker is my last I'm enjoying everything! (well almost!)
Now I just need some HELP..... I can't find any new T-shirts with pockets. The three we have are getting old fast, so if you have any ideas I'd love to hear them!

My Dad....

Days seem to fly by, but every year on this day my DAD is in my thoughts all day. He passed away 14 years ago today, far too soon. I know our Heavenly Father has a plan.... with that said sometimes, I feel like I got gypped! He was taken far too soon, my kids never even knew him.

I didn't know the man in this picture, I didn't know the All American distance runner, I didn't know the man who won the first Deseret News Marathon. People have asked what it was like to see my dad run those races. I don't know, I was too young. I just remember a man who loved to run and to be active in any way. He encouraged us all to run. Dad really believed running could fix anything, if we had allot on our mind he would say "go for a run" when I would get car sick on long rides dad would stop, and have me get out and "run a while" then he would pick me up about a mile down the road. I will admit I didn't always want to (kinda like piano lessons) but I now have a love of running. It really does clear your head! If you don't believe me just give it a try, it can be very addictive.

Random stuff I loved about my DAD...

1. He wanted everyone to be doing something productive at all times. ( ok I didn't always love this!)

2. He took circus peanuts on any and all road trips. (I don't even like them, but they remind me of my dad)

3.He had a deep faith in the gospel.

4. He felt strongly about keeping your body healthy with good food and exercise.

5.He loved to spend time rigging up stuff for us kids to play on. Big hot pink swing sets with trapeze, bungi cord swings, wrestling mats with dish soap. etc.. (I know your laughing right now!)

6. He made awesome divinity.

Me and my dad at our 1st daddy daughter date.

I still use the scriptures with his name on them that he gave me just before he passed away, they are very old so when someone references a scripture with page numbers mine never match up but I don't care I feel like my dad is with me when I read them.

I Love you dad and I miss you!

My new blogging buddie...

I think I may have created a blogging monster! Sunday Brennon decided he wanted to try being a blogger so I showed him the basics and he did the rest. He is having a great time expressing himself this way. I have been trying to get my kids to journal forever, so I think this is awesome. Keep it up Bren! He would love for you all to check it out and leave a comment. http://brennon30.blogspot.com/
